At least 10 people died and 21 were injured in the accident of a F-16 aircraft

USPA NEWS - At least 10 people died and 21 injured, seven of them seriously, in the accident on Monday January 26 to crash a F-16 aircraft of the Hellenic Air Force in the Spanish base of Los Llanos, in the province of Albacete, in southeastern Spain. The dead are the two Greek pilots and eight French military.

Spanish Ministry of Defense sources confirmed to USPA News that the accident occurred while the aircraft was participating in a training exercise, moments after takeoff F-16. Witnesses said the plane was flying very low and crashed into a hangar on the aircraft parking area, where other aircraft were preparing to take off. Following the crash of the fighter against the hangar was a sharp explosion and fire, according to the same sources, was drowned began shortly before 6:30 pm.

The crash site was cordoned off and security of enhanced air base. The air base of Los Llanos welcomes NATO planes, since in its facilities is improving school fighter pilots, the Tactical Leadership Programm (TLP) of NATO. The Tactical Leadership Programme is an organisation formed under a Memorandum of Understanding between 10 NATO nations. TLP is not part of the NATO structure, but linked to NATO via a Letter of Agreement with NATO HQ AC Ramstein. The Mission of Tactical Leadership Programme is to increase the effectiveness of Allied Air Forces through development of leadership skills, mission planning, briefing, tactical air operations and debriefing skills and conceptual and doctrinal initiatives.
