London railway station evacuated after train fire, no injuries

USPA News - A railway station in central London was evacuated Sunday after a fire broke out on board a passenger train, emergency officials said, adding that there were no reports of injuries. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.

The incident happened just after noon local time when a fire erupted in the front carriage of a train at Charing Cross station, which is one of the busiest rail terminals in the British capital, the London Fire Brigade said. Photos posted online by travelers showed flames coming out of the front carriage of the train. "The fire on a train at Charing Cross station is under control, it was a small fire in the front carriage," the London Fire Brigade said, adding that the station had been evacuated. There were no immediate reports of injuries but National Rail said railway disruptions were expected to continue throughout the afternoon.
